Retrofit: Modifies your existing facility space in preparation to accept new equipment. This includes configuring or re-configuring equipment specific overhead structures, flooring, cable ducting, HVAC and electrical requirements.
Many of our clients find this preferable as it allows them to capitalize on existing space as opposed to building a new suite or addition to install imaging equipment. All manufacturers require RF shielding.
Anti-magnetic Shielding —Negates any possibility of an image anomaly created from a moving ferrous contamination outside of the MRI suite for example, a patient in a wheelchair or mobility scooter moving past the MRI room or a car driving through the parking lot outside of the facility.
Unlike RF shielding, anti-magnetic shielding is only mandatory for specific equipment and site conditions. Our technicians are available to visit any site and perform RF Attenuation Tests in accordance with your specification.
RF testing includes measurements to determine the integrity of existing shield systems. Shield seams and joints, electrical and mechanical service penetrations, and door seals are all tested for loss.
Upon conclusion of the test, a test report is issued detailing our findings and recommendations. Whether there is an MRI being exchanged or a room being relocated our staff will guide you step by step thru the process to ensure that your relocation or upgrade proceeds according to plan. We routinely work with architects, engineers, general contractors, owners, and MRI manufacturers to devise a plan to modify, install or remove the RF Enclosure with minimal disruption to facility operations.
For rooms that need to be relocated, our staff will visit the site to survey both locations and determine the best mobilization plan for relocating the enclosure.
To that end, here are four things to keep in mind regarding MRI installation. Follow Atlantis Worldwide. Subscribe to weekly blog! Follow us on Linkedin. Buy Equipment Products Get Started. Sell Equipment Competitive Options. Financing Equipment Financing Options. You can expect it and you will get it. No exceptions.
We maintain adequate inventory and stock levels to build and service your shielding needs in a timely fashion. You can expect the product design will be followed and that quality and workmanship will be provided. This is a result of the legacy passed down from a demanding Swiss parent. If the architect and the General Contractor do not understand the shield design and what conditions are required, it makes for a difficult submittal and approval process.
It also could lead to wrong interpretations of what is required and provided with the shield package. From minimum siting requirements, to existing structural conditions and references, to shield dimensions and equipment locations , mechanical, electrical and plumbing MEP service locations, shield component cut-sheets and interfaces and key magnet vendor details and accessories. We insist on clear, documented communications throughout our contract and our shop drawings are no exception.
One thing that has really impressed me is the teamwork your folks demonstrate - everyone on the MRI team supports each other and comes together during the time of need. The highest compliment to MRI is that the SSCS project configuration documentation withstood the scrutiny from many other organizations from both Programs.
It continues to be a great pleasure to be teamed with MRI's outstanding team. Congratulations on a job well done.
