I googled the way to install the SDK on the Winserver 2k8 machine. Am hoping the same for Infragistics. Our lab uses a build server that is on a Win Server r2 platform and it is a royal pain to set up more machines. If the registry value doesn't exist, then you could create it and have its value be the path to the Windows Phone 7. Once this key exists and is to a valid path, the Infragistics Windows Phone installation should be able to meet its prerequisite check and continue with the install.
I am just checking your progress on solving the described issue according to Brian's info. If you require any further assistance please do not hesitate to ask. Developer Support Engineer. I was able to run the Infragistics Windows Phone installer on a Win Server R2 64bit machine by adding only that registry value.
I gave it a valid folder path, in this case it was one that I had created to test this workaround, and that satisfied the launch requirement of the installer. Below is what would be seen when exporting the key I created. So I can be sure that we are performing the same steps, what is the name of the file you are running?
